‘Investing 101’ with HHHBA U40 Professionals

The Under 40 Young Professionals branch of the Hamilton-Halton Home Builder’s Association (HHHBA) hosted an ‘Investing 101’ professional development seminar on January 14th. Victoria Coates and Natalie Castelli of UrbanSolutions attended the seminar run by RBC Royal Bank.  Julie Danyliw, a Financial Planner, and Kim Grosul, a Mortgage Specialist, provided a presentation to explain the basics of investing which included understanding the importance of investing, determining the investment options that work best for your situation, and balancing the priorities of building equity and reducing debt.

Julie and Kim were also on hand to answer questions from the group following the presentation. The seminar provided a great introduction into the world of investing and opened our eyes about planning for your future. Our biggest takeaway from the seminar is that planning for retirement should start as soon as you enter the workforce!

The team at UrbanSolutions are proud members of the Hamilton-Halton Home Builder’s Association (HHHBA), an organization of professionals in the home-building industry. Within the HHHBA the Under 40 Young Professionals group organizes both social events and professional development events to allow young professionals to network, collaborate, and become active members of the association. The ‘Investing 101’ seminar was a great kickoff event for the New Year and we’re excited to attend future events alongside other young professionals in the field.
