One full year has passed since we began work on a unique and exciting project we call UrbanShare. Our goal was to create an online portal where anyone could have access to proposed development application information with just a click of a button. This includes project and application details, supporting studies, photos, progress updates, and the ability to participate in the planning process – total and complete transparency.
Since March 2015, we have launched four microsites, with a few more approved and coming down the pipeline for 2016. Combined, there have been over 4,500 visits to the site and almost 2,000 document downloads by interested parties.
With the success of our first year behind us, we strive to enhance our microsites, further encourage public engagement, and hopefully assist in making the planning application process easier for all involved.
