Our joint partnership project with CityHousing Hamilton, Effort Trust & Carriage Gate Homes is now complete! On May 24, 2023 was the official opening of 8 Roxanne Drive. Members of our office had the pleasure of attending the ribbon cutting ceremony. This event was also attended by Ward 4 Councillor Tammy Hwang, MP Filomena Tassi, MP Lisa Hepfner and MP Chad Collins. The Honourable Filomena Tassi, Minister responsible for the Federal Economics Development Agency for Southern Ontario announced the Government of Canada has provided $7.1 million in federal funding through the National Housing Co-investing Fund for the creation of 103 affordable housing units for the 8 Roxanne. In addition, the Government of Canada is providing $115 million low interest repayable loan to the Government of Canada’s Rental Construction Financing initiative for the construction of the Roxton located at 16 & 22 Roxanne Drive. This building will provide 352 rental units.
Roxborough Park Subdivision will provide approximately 1600 dwellings in total which are affordable and sustainably developed. In addition 20% of units at 8 Roxanne are accessible providing housing for those most vulnerable in our communities. Thank you to everyone who worked so hard on this project including City of Hamilton, Government of Canada, consultants, tradespersons, and the residents of this neighbourhood!
