Project Description

This project, known as “Stonewest,” consists of a nine-story residential building featuring 216 rental units, 220 parking spaces, and 85 bicycle storage spots. Situated in the Mewburn neighborhood of Hamilton, the development is surrounded primarily by single-family homes and some commercial establishments. The addition of Stonewest aims to enhance the area’s housing options while integrating modern living within this predominantly residential community. Moreover, this development is ideally located for commuters within the Greater Toronto Area, providing renters with the opportunity to minimize their travel times to Downtown Hamilton, Transit Stations and other major transportation routes.

Urban Solutions was retained to oversee this development by processing an Official Plan Amendment, allowing for a maximum density of 339 residential units per hectare in a High Density Residential Area. Additionally, we facilitated a Zoning By-Law Amendment to rezone the entire site to a site-specific Multiple Dwellings “DE-2” Zone under the City of Hamilton’s Zoning By-law No. 6593.
