On September 12, 2024, the UrbanSolutions team attended the West End Home Builders Association (WEHBA) U40 Breakfast – Young Business Leaders in the Industry at the Waterfront Centre in Hamilton. The event featured guest speakers Jessie HaKong of Cachet Homes, Mike Valchuk of Building Dreams Contracting, and Dan Guest of Guest Plumbing and HVAC, and was moderated by WEHBA 1st Vice President David Ionico.
The speakers, all young leaders and entrepreneurs, explored their journeys to their current roles and some key learnings along the way. The panel had a range of different views on many topics, demonstrating that there is no single, one-track way to build your own success, but rather showing that success can be achieved in many ways provided is the right way for the individual. The panel shared advice with the event attendees and provided a backdoor look into the hard work, dedication, and overall entrepreneurial mindset that is required if you want to build a business. The speakers also discussed the importance of networking and building strong connections with peers in your realm, with an emphasis on being yourself by focusing on not only your product, skills, and services, but also the interpersonal qualities that allow you to stand out from others who may offer the same level of service and skills. Our team looks forward to further exploring ways we can build upon our unique skillsets and strengthening existing relationships while fostering new ones.
