What began as a bold idea between co-founders Matt Johnston and Sergio Manchia in a small, second-floor boardroom at Ancaster Self Storage has grown into a thriving planning and development firm. With every milestone achieved, our journey has been marked by growth, resilience, and a commitment to excellence.
From Humble Beginnings to New Heights
UrbanSolutions was founded on a shared vision: to create a firm that not only understood the complexities of land development but also prioritized quality, community engagement, and innovative planning solutions. From the outset, Matt and Sergio believed in building something that could contribute to reshaping urban landscapes with a strategic, community-focused approach.
In our early days, we set up shop in that humble boardroom at Ancaster Self Storage—a fitting launch pad for a company centered on growth and transformation. As the firm expanded, we soon needed more space and moved to a larger office at 105 Main Street, Hamilton. The growing team, client base, and project portfolio demanded more, and it was clear that we were outgrowing even this new location.
With a vision for a purpose-built headquarters that embodied the firm’s ethos, UrbanSolutions proudly designed and built its own office building at 3 Studebaker Place. Opening the doors to this new facility in 2020 marked a new chapter in our journey—one that underscores how far we’ve come from our initial days.
