Wellington Square
UrbanSolutions Planning & Land Development Consultants Inc. is the authorized planning consultant acting on behalf of Wellington Square Apts., the registered owner of 150 Mohawk Road East, Known as Wellington Square, in the City of Hamilton. The proposal for the subject lands is to develop one (1) 11-storey building containing 161 residential units. In addition, the proposed development is accommodated by 387 parking spaces contained in an underground parking garage and 44 long-term bicycle parking spaces. To facilitate this proposal, applications were submitted to the City of Hamilton in December of 2022, to amend the City of Hamilton Zoning By-law.
The purpose of this website is to provide interested parties with access to the proposed development application details, supporting studies and access to participate in the planning process.
RESOURCES
Prior to submitting planning applications to the City of Hamilton, the development concept participated in the City’s Formal Consultation process. Through this process, it was determined that draft Zoning By-law, Survey Plan, Concept Plan, Urban Design Brief, Tree Portection Plan, Functional Servicing Report, Servicing Options Report, Sun Shadow Study, Transportation Impact Study, Parking Study, Transportation Demand Management Options Report, Public Consultation Strateg and Cost Acknowledgement Agreement would be required to evaluate the proposal.
These reports have been completed and submitted to the City of Hamilton in support of the proposal and copies of the reports are available for you to review.
PROJECT UPDATES
November 15, 2018 – Formal Consultation application submitted to City of Hamilton.
January 9, 2019 – Development Review Team meeting held to evaluate Formal Consultation submission (FC-18-141).
March 18, 2022 – Formal Consultation Waiver submitted to City of Hamilton.
April 6, 2022 – Formal Consultation Waiver issued by City of Hamilton (FC-18-141).
December 23, 2022 – Zoning By-law Amendment application submitted to City of Hamilton.
January 17, 2023 – Zoning By-law Amendment application deemed completed by City of Hamilton (ZAC-23-015).
June 13, 2023 – 2nd Submission made in support of Zoning By-law Amendment application (ZAC-23-015) submitted to City of Hamilton.
June 18, 2024 – Statutory public meeting held at Planning Committee. Zoning By-law Amendment application (ZAC-23-015) approved at City of Hamilton Planning Committee.
June 26, 2024 – By-law No. 24-108 passed by Hamilton City Council.
July 31, 2024 – By-law No. 24-108 is final & binding.
