UrbanSolutions Planning & Land Development Consultants Inc. is the authorized planning consultant acting on behalf of 467052 Ontario Limited, c/o Steven Joyce (the Owner) for the lands municipally known as 222, 226 & 228 Barton Street East and 255, 257, 261 & 265 Wellington Street North in the City of Hamilton (subject lands). On behalf of the owner, our office has submitted Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendment applications to the City of Hamilton to facilitate the proposed development of a seven (7) storey mixed use building with 787.30 square metres of commercial space, 757.90 square metres of office space and 79 residential dwelling units. In addition, 86 parking spaces located at grade behind the building and within an underground parking structure are proposed as well as 14 short term bicycle parking spaces located at grade and 86 long term bicycle parking spaces located in a safe and secure area in the underground parking level. These applications were submitted to the City of Hamilton on December 20, 2019.
The purpose of this site is to provide interested parties with access to the application details and supporting studies, and to provide an opportunity to participate in the planning process. Updates to this site will be provided throughout the planning process.
Prior to submitting planning applications to the City of Hamilton, our team participated in the City’s Formal Consultation process. Through this process, it was determined that the following plans and studies would be required to evaluate the proposal: Survey Plan, Concept Plan, Planning Justification Report, Building Elevations, Urban Design Brief, Tree Protection Plan, Landscape Plan, Grading & Servicing Plans, Functional Servicing Report, Phase 1 & 2 Environmental Site Assessments, Noise Feasibility Study, Transportation Impact Study, Transportation Demand Management Report, and Public Consultation Strategy.
August 22, 2018– Formal Consultation meeting held at the City of Hamilton.
December 20, 2019– Application for Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendments submitted to the City of Hamilton.
January 17, 2020– Notice of Complete Application received from the City of Hamilton.
May 20, 2020– Design Review Panel submission.
July 27, 2020– Presentation to the Barton Village Business Improvement Area Board of Directors.
August 13, 2020–Design Review Panel presentation.
February 5, 2021 – Resubmission 1 for Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendment submitted to City of Hamilton.
July 30, 2021 – Resubmission 2 for Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendment supporting Noise redesignation.
